Once your book has been approved, you can enhance it with optional add-ons that bring the story to life: audio narration and animated illustrations. Open the book from your dashboard and tap Enhance your book to see what's available — you can add both at once and pay for them together.
Audio narration
A professional voice reads the story aloud, bringing it to life for read-along time and early readers.
Two voices included — every narration purchase unlocks both a female and a male voice. You can switch between them anytime while reading, right from the book viewer.
Read-along highlighting — as the narration plays, each word highlights in sync with the audio, making it easy for early readers to follow along.
Animated illustrations
Every illustration gently comes to life — blinking eyes, drifting light, a soft breeze — turning each page into a living scene.
Choose a clip length — 5, 10, or 15 seconds of motion per illustration. Longer clips show more movement, and 15 seconds is the best value. You can always add a longer length later.
Plays automatically — when you open a book that has animation, the illustrations come to life on their own. You can switch back to still pictures anytime using the toggle in the reader.
How to add an add-on to your book
From your dashboard, open the book you'd like to enhance and tap Enhance your book. This is available once your book has been approved, either from the review screen or from the book's options menu. Select narration, an animation length, or both, and check out in one go. Add-ons are a one-time purchase for that specific book.
Where can I enjoy them?
Both add-ons work in the online reader on any device. They're also included when you share the Digital Edition with family and friends via a sharing link — so anyone you share with can hear the narration and watch the illustrations come to life too.
How much does it cost?
Each add-on is priced separately, and prices vary by region. You'll always see the exact price for your location on your dashboard before you pay.
Is it available for every book?
Narration is available for books created in our supported languages. Animated illustrations are rolling out gradually — if you don't see the option for your book yet, it may not be available for it at this time.
